A New Monthly Blog Series
We are excited to announce that NGS will be featuring a guest blog series once a month from the 3M™ DI-NOC™ Guru, Brent Williams. With the endless possibilities of 3M DI-NOC architectural film, Brent will be covering a wide range of topics.
Introducing Brent Williams the 3M DI-NOC Guru
Brent Williams got his start with automotive film and graphics back in the 80s as an installer. Discussing his work history, Williams said, “Back then, DI-NOC was purely an automotive product in the US. So, I was trained by 3M automotive trades to install DI-NOC in the spring of 1981.”
Working in the Architectural Industry
After his start in the industry, Brent went to architecture school and wondered why 3M didn’t make “big rolls” of DI-NOC for the architectural environment. Little did he know, they did, and the use of this type of film was already being utilized in Japan.
Fast-forward to 2006, when 3M introduced this architectural film to the US, and Brent Williams was privileged enough to be one of the presenters. With over 40 years in the industry, Williams is very passionate about 3M DI-NOC film and the architectural market. As the current design program director for Accent Distributing, he has an inside view into working with dealers and installers in the business, connecting with the A/D community, educating the construction industry, and staying up to date on the latest 3M products.
